The Frankfurt School strikes again
The BBC, always running against the wind, has spent £20k asking viewers if it is sufficiently obvious that Dr. Who is shot in Cardiff.
A wide range of people were asked for their views – including members of the gay, lesbian and transgender communities, Somali men living in Wales, pensioners, schoolchildren and the shows’ fans.
The eight groups were shown clips from the two shows and asked for their comments. Most were aware the two shows were filmed in Cardiff, but Doctor Who, starring Matt Smith as the Time Lord, was criticised for playing down its links to Wales.
