Mark Steyn on regulatory tyranny.

As Tocqueville wrote:

True. His Majesty was an absolute tyrant - in theory. But in practice he was in his palace hundreds of miles away.

Also: Zombie calls the Obama presidency a cargo cult.

... words can only take you so far as a messiah. Eventually, you’re going to have to produce some cargo. And for Obama, that’s where things started to fall apart.
