Ghost of a flea

This is a classic leftist tactic.

The non-German culture types are made out to be German; where you can see 'German' as a variable. They use this for most anything, when they want to pull on the heart strings. Then, of course, they pull on the purse strings.

I see it on subway advertising all the time. The cute, darling little blond haired boy being used as poster boy for mental health, when the reality is that the mental health crisis in Toronto is not the cute blonde kids, but other profilable groups.

The leftists have brought about tribalism. People only care about their tribe; so paste up a fiction that implies their tribe is in need, when really, it is another. The lefties need money.

All very familiar to anyone in telemarketing.

They will turn red with rage at the thought of "assimilation" but once you have a passport - or a toe across the border - you are "German". They are categorical imperialists when it suits them.

Much easier to ascribe citizenship to a) blood and soil (Japan, Europe: various) or b) an ideology (America, Islam).

Another thought: The Left is all for self made identities when it suits them. I could say I was a woman and they would all have to smile and nod and if anyone said different they would send the human rights thought police after them.

But if conservatives and Muslims agree about something it is a different story. I doubt these jihadis identify themselves as anything but Muslim, and most conservatives would agree they are not German (culturally or ideologically, let alone ethnically) but the Left feels entitled to foist the label on them all the same. If conservatives tried it they would be called racist.
