A break in the clouds

Talks are underway for a quarter of the wings for the F-35 production run, wings for 800 aircraft, to be built in Israel.

I shall quote Popular Science instead. Am I missing something? A flying Jeep would have tested my suspension of disbelief as a twelve year old.

The Pentagon's Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) has selected two companies to proceed with the next stage of its Transformer, known as TX—a fully automated four-person vehicle that can drive like a car and then take off and fly like an aircraft to avoid roadside bombs.

Regrettably, there is generation of men - about five to fifteen years younger than me - whose brains deactivate when they hear the word "Transformer". As these men are in mid-career roles, it will be interesting to see how far they can push this absurdity along the procurement chain.
