Hey Japan, how's that 85% confidence in Obama working out for you?
Japan is set to commission a giant helicopter carrier destroyer.
The nation's Maritime Self-Defence Force is reportedly planning to construct a new 284 metre long destroyer capable of transporting 14 helicopters, 4,000 people and 50 trucks.
The purchase is part of a wider military build up in which the Defence Ministry has sought funds to purchase around 40 F-35 fighter jets which will become the future mainstay of the nation's air force, according to Kyodo News.

Of course that's not an aircraft carrier; Japan is not allowed to have things like that. Are you going to believe them of your lyin' eyes?
In other news, I see it's still difficult to find a picture of their new toy. Brickmuppet had one a-while back... I recall Steven Den Beste drolly commenting about "this is not a pipe."
