Without peers

In Canada, we now have to debate whether an accused has the right to face an accuser. So much for Magna Carta.

The question of whether a Muslim woman can wear a niqab -- a veil that shows only her eyes -- while testifying against men accused of sexually assaulting her will be heard next week. The woman was ordered to testify by Justice Norris Weisman at a preliminary hearing last fall to ensure the defendants could face their accuser in court.

She removed her veil to get a drivers license. She can remove her veil in court.

But some man might become aroused if she removes her veil. God hates sex. That's why he made humans with such a tiny sex drive.

I wonder why Muhammed was so worried about sex.

This is a bad situation all around. Bad for the woman, who was assaulted. And now she is going to have to go against her religious beliefs and remove her veil. I truly feel for this woman.

Yet her religious beliefs didn't at all prevent her from getting a provincial driver's license. Which was kind of the point.

Exactly. As is the point of the trial, a process whereby we determine whether or not she was assaulted.

And, Angela, I have removed your spam links and banned your fat, spamming ass from my site.

Don't worry. When Canada has Sharia you won't have any spectacle like this. Since there weren't several male witnesses this woman will be convicted of adultery and buried in a hole up to her waist before being stoned. Presumably they will let her wear the niqab when the sentence is carried out...
