If you support representative government, human rights, the right to self defence, the rights of women, the rights of minorities including and especially religious and sexual minorities, the rights of children and - ultimately - the rights of Arabs and Muslims to live free from ethnic or religious fascism then you support Israel.

Exactly. Though the fact inspires no cognitive dissonance in minds committed to slavery as freedom and ignorance as truth. The liberal establishment is under such stress over the possibility that Israel might succeed in protecting her own people that they are letting the mask slip a little. The latest is Bill Moyers giving us a raw peek into the consciousness of The Saint of PBS. Talking about Gaza and going back to the book of Deuteronomy, he referenced the biblical commands to take the promised land and jumped (I am not kidding!) to this outrageous bit of racism: “So God-soaked violence became genetically coded.”

Moyers has a self-belief that his views are based upon a sort of science. For him it seems that "our" responses to stimulus have more to do with the amygdala and the uptake of certain chemicals in response to those stimuli.

His is a pleasure/pain world. We choose to do that which gives us pleasure. We avoid that which causes us pain. This view gives rise to the opinion that those of us who withhold immediate pleasure to gain greater pleasure down the road (deferred reward) gain a certain perverse pleasure from such deferral.

As such a thinker, he is unencumbered by the dilemma of ethics and morality. Neither are important, since they aren't the true motivators of action or inaction. There can be no moral equivalance since morality itself cannot be a factor that determines activity. It can only be used to mask our decisions.

It's science. It's Liberation Science. We are nothing more than flat worms responding to electrical impluses.
