His brother's keeper
Senator John McCain served with honour, was brutally tortured, held on and returned home to continue his service. Now decades later he is thanked with insults by a man who has never served and never sacrificed. Such is the reward of "white privilege" according to Obama's associates.
Such is a community organizer's burden. Such is the entitlement claimed by those whose only burden is a fantasy of grievance. An ignoble opponent, the man is a worse friend: Obama's tens of millions are being spent at such a rate, he has refused to help Congressional Democrats this fall. Then there is the small matter of his brother in Kenya living on a dollar a month. But, you know, priorities.
Obama made a bad mistake this week by airing ads calling McCain a liar and accusing him of running a dishonourable campaign. What a man like Obama cannot comprehend is that a man like McCain really was prepared to take him on in a fair fight. Now Obama is likely to learn what it really means to take the gloves off.
