Would be doing my bit to make historical bygones be bygones if you think about it. Which is by way of pointing to WWTDD? as he identifies what may be the only redeeming aspect of the fascist spectacle underway in Peking.

What a world it would be if they really did hand out Olympic medals for hotness. And also the girls had to compete in lingerie and the names were changed from things like "Women’s Track" to "PowderPuff Jumping Up and Down". I don’t know why they’re stonewalling this. Do they want ratings or what?

Notice how I did that? I called "Beijing" Peking. Let them come after me with a complaint in front of a few "human rights" commissions and Canada's own fascist spectacle in miniature will have reached its apotheosis.

Related: The architect of the current Olympiad? Albert Speer Jr. The English language lacks a word to sum up an insulting, grotesque parody of this magnitude. Perhaps there is a Mandarin expression we could borrow for future reference (hat tip to Five Feet of Fury).

Actually, the only redeeming aspect of the Peking spectacle is those lovely, lovely banner girls, sporting the satin mini-dresses. Thighlicious. There is hope yet for a country that can showcase such magnificent sveltitude.
