Another monstrosity is to arise at the desert port of Dubai; I admit this one is impressive. The green power angle is the final wretched detail required to render this a fascist marvel of our age.

Much like the city itself, Dubai’s upcoming Dynamic Tower will be constantly changing. As the urban skyline grows around it, this building will swivel in the wind. Its 80 floors rotate independently, ensuring that the tower will never look the same way twice, the architects say. The stores pivot around a central spine, and in between each apartment spins a wind-turbine – an extra innovation that turns these rotating homes into self-sufficient powerhouses.

David Fisher's Dynamic Tower is a wonder and sure to be a boon to Italy's construction sector. And, I expect, for its arms manufacturers on the day some rival potentate decides to knock down the spires of Mos Eisley.

I have a feeling these Gulf state wonders are the Ryugyong Hotels of their times. They might have actually finished construction and be fully operable, but once people stop buying the oil, then what?

Who's going to keep paying exorbitant leases to live and work in backward, bankrupt sandboxes?

Hmmm...I wonder if David Fisher is descended of...you know...a Red Sea pedestrian?

One of the gaudiest buildings ever.
