"Anyone trying to destroy Israel will find France blocking the way." One is tempted to observe Israel will now be safe from attacks from the rear but let us nonetheless hope President Sarkozy means what he says. Granted, I know what I would be thinking if the French told me they had my six; I expect the Israelis will be thinking along the same lines.
The Israels will not be waiting on the charisma of Barack Obama - who is not a Muslim - or his Marxist administration to see to their defense either. John Bolton predicts an Israeli attack on Persian nuclear sites before the next American President is sworn in.
"That doesn't end the problem but it buys time during which a more permanent solution might be found.... How long? That would be hard to say. Depends on the extent of the destruction."
A notoriously difficult question to answer given Iran's investment in Führerbunker technology for its nuclear sites. But then the IDF might decide to same themselves some travel time and destroy the Kharg Island oil terminal - responsible for 90% of Iran's oil exports, the natural gas facilities at Assaluyeh and the facilities at Lavan Island for good measure. I also like the look of the Karun-3 dam in sunny Khuzestan. A Manhattan Project is a trickier proposition with the lights out, no petrol at the pump and bill collectors at the door.
