A nice knock-down argument for you

WhichIsToBeMaster.gif

Jay Currie asks us to remember Alice as she stepped Through the Looking Glass - "as we have this week" - and met Humpty Dumpty.

“When I use a word,’ Humpty Dumpty said in rather a scornful tone, ‘it means just what I choose it to mean — neither more nor less.”

“The question is,” said Alice, “whether you can make words mean so many different things.”

“The question is,” said Humpty Dumpty, “which is to be master— that’s all.”

Dear "john Ryan",

I realize you believe President Bush is somehow responsible for everything from (non-existent) global warming to the generalized forever war of the Religion of Peace. But it is difficult for me to imagine how even someone of your obvious intellectual agility could blame the President for the actions of British Columbia's "human rights" legislation.

Do tell.

Equivocaton.

One of the favourite fallacies of the Radical Left. Add in "You're Another" and "Argument Against the Man" and you have most RL rants.

I don't mind that you have an opinion that differs from mine. Just tell me words that have meaning. Then we can talk. I think it's one of the rules.

Or, was one of the rules. Ambiguity, Tu Quoque, Ad Hominem.

That's a powerful argument. Is it "Off with their heads!" or "Change!"?

But Flea, it's so obvious:

1. You are critical of the Left's ideology;

2. Bush is critical of the Left's ideology;

3. You are not entirely critical of Bush's ideology;

4. HYPOCRISY!!!

It's all so clear!
