Since we have an entire archipelago of useless snow-capped islands within easy reach of 1000-metre-plus deep water, I think we owe it to ourselves to hollow them out and build our own series of underground superbases. Then we can send forth our own Bond villain superweapons, like CANDU-and maple-syrup-powered submersible aircraft carriers.

According to Wikipedia, the Indians have managed to fit their reactor into the hull of the new Advanced Technology Vessel. If true, this is a serious accomplishment as this is perhaps the trickiest bit of engineering involved. The Freepers have a cutaway view (scroll down).
