Matthew 10:34

British military chaplains may be armed in Afghanistan. Such is a fight with barbarians (via Neptunus Lex). Something to remember for the next complaint about the Geneva Conventions. Those are supposed to prevent hostage taking, parading of captured soldiers before the media, (real) torture, use of holy sites as fortifications and targeting civilians let alone propaganda snuff films.

For the first time in any theatre of conflict chaplains are no longer considered to be protected by the rules of war, because of the propaganda Taliban extremists would gain from showing “trophy” footage of a captive Christian priest. By long tradition, clergy serving in Britain’s armed forces have not carried weapons in war-zones, but now some Royal Navy Commando chaplains want to be allowed to carry a side-arm, stating that as a last resort they would rather take their own life than fall into the hands of the Taliban.

For some reason, I thought that chaplains were armed... oh, I see, I confused them with the pipe bands. (Those pipers were efficient killers!)

Reinstitute the Geneva Conventions as originally signed, deleting the mush/clag which has been added.

Cheers
