It's better to die than to be a coward

HarryGurkha.jpg

Prince Harry is undergoing training with 3rd Battalion, Royal Gurkha Rifles. Now if only we can find a Parliament that will allow him to fight.

He joined the tough men from Nepal — who have struck terror into Britain’s enemies for 200 years — looking ready for action kitted out in full camouflage gear. At the end of the exercise Harry, a 22-year-old 2nd lieutenant whose own unit has gone to Iraq without him because of fears for his safety, will be presented with an honorary kukri — the curved knife of the Gurkhas.

Time to limit the franchise, raise the royal standard at Oxford and set about business in earnest.

My he looks as old as my 17 year old...

That being said, I look upong my dad's kukhri that is proudly displayed for my three boys to see and say that if the he wants to fight, let him fight..

Better to die a man than a wither away a noble born coward and not a coward of his own choice.

I think that Harry may actually have a good sense of history.

Which, to be quite honest, absolutely astonishes me, given what we've heard about his life pre-service.

I say let the man serve and win his spurs. He's not the heir -- he's the spare. Better to let him set a good example of bravery than to force him to set a bad example of debauchery.

Talk about a sense of history! Ben, the man is a cavalier. The debauching is an integral part of his responsibilities. I think New England has had an unfortunate effect on you... ;)
