Madness? This. Is. Australia!
The Persians tried to take Australians captive five times before they settled on the Royal Navy as a soft target.
Rantburg comments suggests the following - rumoured - highly colourful language: "Get the f*ck back! Get the f*ck back NOW! Or we'll blow your monkey arses away!"
Well said.
Though all this begs the question as to why various corsairs had not been sent to meet their devil god before the hot-house flowers of Her Majesty's Royal Navy sailed into harm's way. Live and learn. Let us pray Canadians will react with Australian aplomb the next time a black flag appears on the horizon.

Aw man, look at that new destroyer. Everyone is getting phased-array radars and AEGIS integrated combat systems. Except us.
Good on the Aussies for repelling Iranian piracy, though. I hope the RN uses Cornwall's sad performance as a "lesson learned" and now conducts proper overwatch of its MIO boarding parties.

Ahhh.. what salty language!
One can hope all nations naval personel act accordingly if another boarding on the high seas is attempted. Curse the pirates dieties, tell them what shall happen to their families then send them to Davy Jones Locker post haste..
I know a lot of Aussies. Odd. Based on their language when drinking/playing soccer/walking around Shoppers Drugmart, I think they are all sailors.

I don't know if we have had similar encounters with the Called of Allah. However, some time in 2002, an Iranian speedboat found out that, unless the conditions are in your favour, a Canadian destroyer can run you down. I don't think they actually hit the boat but ...

Lets hope the Aussies inspire the British Navy to show some spine next time.
