Gillian Anderson with Corset and Mirror
This self-explanatory post arrives via Magdalene Veen; recently shorn.
An excellent point; corsets for everyone!

Is it proper to think of one's spats as little corsets of the leg? Is it proper to ask that question out loud?

I think it is only fair if we are going to ask the gentler sex to wear corsets that we gentlemen in turn don some form of ankle restraint.
Full disclosure: I did not enjoy X-Files at all. Anyone who has spent even a small but significant amount of time working in a government bureaucracy can tell you that the civil service is absolutely hopeless when it comes to concealing a multi-generational, cross-departmental grand Government Conspiracy. All it would take for somebody (even at the highest security clearances) to leak tidbits to the press is the failure to get an expected promotion, the termination of a lucrative contract (and perks arising from such); or, in the worst of all cases -- the success of a hated rival's initiative.
Is it at all possible that perhaps she just isn't that stellar an actress? I know she gets high marks for House of Mirth but as Ms. Veen notes obliquely, one reasonably good performance doesn't instantly undo nine years of cheese.
Thank you for this, Sir Flea.
She was pretty good in 'Bleak House'.
X-Files: they should have ended it just before doing that movie.

Just carrying out my civic duty.
Ah Gillian. Many thanks Herr Flea...
She was cutest circa 1998 but still, yum.

Can it be I am alone in enjoying the X-Files movie? I just wish I had thought up the phrase "Fight the Future". It will be the centrepiece of any future Flea political campaign.
I personally love the movie. My wife is one of those "shippers" (i.e. she liked the relationship aspect of the show) whereas I am an afficianado of the mythology. I have in my posession the first two dik sets of the mythology release and I will be purchasing the second two as well as the movei soonest.

Gee Flea, I must thnk you for turning me onto Magdalene Veen and Abney Park. My word. Tis a sound and a look I have searched for for many a year. I have noted that I am tired of my vast collection of electro-thumping-depressive tunes of late and this shall add to it nicely..
As well, I am obsessed with Veen's images.. yum. I say ((Yum ^10)+1) w00t.

The hat tip is due to the Armored Facilities Manager; she even links to him, the lucky bastard!
