The dark secret

Goth.jpg

A Sussex University study has unearth'd the dark secret of goth culture (via Dodgeblogium).

Parents need not worry if their teenagers become goths. A university study shows they are likely to become doctors, lawyers or architects. ... "They won't like me saying it, but their lifestyle, unlike the punk scene, is a middle-class subculture," she said. Her research shows that goths share a dark sense of humour. "The values of the goth subculture are very high-brow," she said. "They tend to enjoy old poetry, books and the arts."

And musn't forget the corsets.

A non-white goth -- who knew?

Been around quite a few goth type haunts and at least in London there are plenty of non-white goths even a smattering of black ones. Lots of oriental goths that is for sure.

I think that you'd find a similar demographic for kids that played D&D.

Exactly! Indeed, I have my pale face powder and pirate shirt on right now here in the office.
