Shining
The wonders of post-production editing and a well-known film finds a new life. Actually, I'd rather see the revised edit than Kubrick's version (hat tip to Porchboy).
Update: Here is an edit of the Titanic trailer. Time to rearrange some deck chairs.

Yes, somehow Kubrick managed to make a terrifying book into a bore. As Pauline Kael wrote of it, "All work & no play makes Stanley a dull boy."
BTW, Seif Gaddafi's artshow is currently on display in Montreal. Don't miss this once in a lifetime chance to experience the show London critics said would be more at home on a park fence

BA, I had the opposite response: I found the book to be yet another of King's ham-fisted yawns, while the film strikes me as occasionally flawed but nevertheless chilling.
