More blah blah blah

Hey, National Post: you still lost.

The Canadian consensus consists of those views that sensitive, educated people assume will be held by other sensitive, educated people. Slowly, it evolves. In one era interracial marriage appears an eccentric idea at best; 10 years later, the consensus having altered, the right to interracial marriage looks so commendable that anyone seriously opposing it will be condemned for bigotry. A change like that emerges from, and expresses, the governing liberal/socialist consensus.

Yes, it does. But then it also expresses elementary justice, common sense and a basic understanding that different people make different choices. Also, that those opposing the idea were most often mouth-breathing bigots. And in case it is not obvious, the Post's snide aside was directed toward "same-sex marriage" and not "interracial marriage". But then folks like this thought bigotry against the latter was God ordained, natural and self-evidently reasonable until enough people worked hard enough for it to emerge into the "governing liberal/socialist consensus", whatever that is supposed to mean.
