Moonbase
The Campblog argues we do not need an economic case for a return to the moon.
And then... I should add the Flea's endorsement of this project is conditional on all moonbase staff wearing late '70s jumpsuits and having feathered-hair and/or sideburns.

The economic case is neccessary so that we'll actually make some adult use of the moon next time we go there instead of just playing golf then not going back for 30 years.

My point was that the economic case being put forth seemed to fall short. What are the economics of investing in the - pardon the pun - astronomically expensive capital costs of a Lunar platinum mining operation if there's a strong possibility we'll use solar power by the end of the 21st century? Besides, the jumpsuits, the sideburns, 2000 yard drives off the tee!!
